A cool project to keep kids safe! Update

Working on a very rewarding project! Last year, a client asked Sic ‘Em to write and produce a book about internet safety – for preschoolers. This book is the first of its kind to address internet safety to kids from ages 3 to 5. And I was very excited to work on a project like this. I hired a very talented illustrator, Tracy Spencer, to create the adorable animal character illustrations. The story developed nicely and the book was printed in 5 languages. The book ties into a larger brand strategy of Family Security.

As a follow-on project, we created an iPad app version of the book. We went into the recording studio with voiceover talent that really brought the story to life. We also added character animation and even a gaming function to this version.

Personally, this has been a very rewarding project for several reasons. For one, I love a challenge. This project challenged me to create and communicate in new ways. Second, it's an important issue. Computers are a big part of a child's life – and teaching them how to be safe from online threats is a good thing.

The App is now available as a free download from the Apple App store.
